Nimo Mohamed Abdi is a Somali peacebuilder, climate advocate, and researcher with over eight years of experience in development, governance, and community resilience programming. She is the Co-Founder and Program Manager of the Puntland Sustainable Agrilivestock Network (PUSAN), where she leads climate-smart agriculture, women’s economic empowerment, and youth employment initiatives in rural and conflict-affected communities across Somalia.

She is an alumna of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and serves as Program Coordinator (Somali States) for the YALI East Somali Chapter. Nimo is also affiliated with the Agency for Peacebuilding in Italy and is a Founding Member of the Horn of Africa Platform for Women, Peace and Security, advancing women’s leadership in peace processes and climate resilience.

In 2025, she published her first international article, “Climate Resilience is Peace: Transforming Crisis into Opportunity in Somalia,” with WIIS Italy, contributing to global discussions on the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda and the climate peace nexus.

As a researcher, Nimo focuses on climate security, gender-responsive peacebuilding, youth leadership, and sustainable development in fragile contexts. Her work bridges grassroots action with policy advocacy, positioning women and youth as key actors in building inclusive and sustainable peace in the Horn of Africa.
