Dr. Abdiaziz Ahmed Ibrahim is  Senior Research at Tayo resilience Foundation and Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Somalia (UNISO), Mogadishu. He holds a PhD in Islamic Economics and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Public Finance, Islamic Economics, Econometrics, Development Economics, and Financial Markets.

Dr. Abdiaziz’s research focuses on macroeconomic policy analysis in fragile and post-conflict states, with particular emphasis on fiscal policy, youth employment, public expenditure, taxation, governance, and economic development in Somalia. His empirical work extensively employs time-series and econometric techniques to analyze the effectiveness of government policy instruments in addressing unemployment and structural economic challenges.

He has authored over 17 peer-reviewed journal articles and serves as a reviewer for several international academic journals, contributing to the advancement of research quality in economics and public policy. His recent research agenda includes fiscal policy effectiveness, labor market outcomes, financial inclusion, and institutional reform in Somalia.

Dr. Abdiaziz is actively engaged in policy dialogues with academics, development practitioners, and public institutions, advocating evidence-based fiscal strategies to address youth unemployment and promote inclusive economic growth. At this forum, he will present his study titled “The Role of Fiscal Policy Tools in Youth Employment in Somalia (1993–2024)”, examining how government expenditure, taxation, and public investment have influenced youth employment outcomes over the last three decades and highlighting policy implications for sustainable job creation.
